Pricing
One fee. The rest is math.
tag. charges riders a flat $1.50 per ride. That is the entire business model. Everything else you pay is the real, computed cost of the drive, split across the people in the car.
The formula
Real costs, really split.
1 · What the drive costs
Route distance ÷ the car's EPA fuel economy × this week's California gas price, plus tolls when the route has them. Live data, per trip, per car.
2 · Plus the only fee
A flat $1.50 per rider. Not a percentage, not a markup on gas, and it never surges. It is the only money tag. makes.
3 · Divided by everyone in the car
Driver included. Only occupied seats count, so nobody subsidizes an empty seat, and every new rider lowers everyone's share.
Try it
Watch a share shrink.
About 180 miles · 30 MPG · gas at $5.85 a gallon
2 people in the car · drops again if more seats fill
Same formula the app runs, with example inputs. Real trips use the actual route, the driver's actual car, and the current gas price.

The fine print, in large type
No hidden anything.
Drivers get costs, not income
Riders' shares reimburse the drive. Drivers never receive more than the trip cost, so nobody is driving to make money.
The breakdown is always visible
Gas share, fee, total. On the trip card, on the detail screen, and on the payment sheet. If you can pay it, you can see it.
Prices only fall after you join
Your share is recalculated when new riders join, and it only moves down. The card always shows your current price.
